A native Tar Heel and former teacher of literature, writing & communications at various North Carolina universities and public school systems, Sara Claytor holds two graduate degrees from UNC Chapel Hill. She lives outside Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and is the proud grandmother of two.

Sara was Fiction Editor for a small press specializing in mystery and suspense. Pudding House Publications published her chapbook, Reviving the Damsel Fish, in 2007. Main Street Rag published her full-length poetry book, Howling on Red Dirt Roads (2008). Another full-length poetry book, Keeping Company With Ghosts, is currently under contract with Rock Way Press.
