Featured poet for L’Intrigue and winner of the 2000 Thunder Rain Award in poetry, Sara has received numerous poetry prizes. Two of Sara's short stories have received first place in the Sensations Magazine competition. She also placed first in short fiction at the Charlotte Writer’s Club (Elizabeth Simpson Smith Award) and the Virginia Highlands Festival.
